When tired out from chasing the dogs outdoors, find a comfortable place indoors to quietly play in a different way.
Brushes lined up. Paints organized, then organized again. A paper plate for mixing. A glass filled with water for cleaning. Everything had to be ‘just so’. All the while he deliberated over the empty white page, “What to paint?” Then, decision made, the paint is poured onto the plate. The brush is dipped, a pause, a look, a breath, then careful brush strokes begin a masterpiece.
The seasons are changing. For a few days in late spring, the sunlight reflected through a corner of our aquarium, creating a rainbow of light. Now, as fall approaches, the sun’s angle in the evening sky again reflects sunlight through the ‘prism’. It is fun experimenting with different poses (and discussing this all with Sprout Two, who is still a willing participant).
